The press about Søren Mosegaard's novel Uhyret fra Betlehem (The Creature from Betlehem)
"… brilliant tour de force … sparkling and precise…" Lars Ole Sauerberg, Jyllandsposten
"… undeniable talent … a hard-boiled thriller to the bloodthirsty and a heretical provocation to the believers. The novel isn’t like anything else in Danish literature … Christianity and the Church is completely in line with the conception of the most depraved cult: manipulating, conspiring, corrupt, extremely criminal, perverted, and obsessed with power … Mosegaards talent is his wonderful sense of satire and conspiration … his knowledge and fantasy is unlimited…" Klaus Rothstein, Berlingske Tidende
"… Jesus as a killer-shark ... entertaining debute …" Tue Andersen Nexø, Information
"… international bestseller-concept…" Mogens Damgaard, Fyens Stiftstidende
"… funny dialogues … courageous thoughts and ideas about the past and present…" Bo Tao Michaelis, Politiken
"... I don't think that I've ever read a more disgusting and repulsive book ..." Lars Tjalve, Kristeligt Dagblad (Christian newspaper)
"… large-scale indictment against Christianity…" Lars Bukdal, Weekendavisen
… from page one it’s like participating in a completely bizarre and breathless action-movie … Mosegaard is an incredible amusing storyteller with a very colorful language that fits his horror-splatter-comedy-style … I definitly have to read the Bible again, since there seems to be quite a few errors in it … wonderful entertainment and food for thought…" Anja Kristensen, Jubii Nyt om Bøger

Burnt Bible FAQ:
A unique collectors item, signed by Søren Mosegaard, shown on recognized art-exhibitions, reported to the police, charged with blasphemy, and thoroughly covered by the press. It lacks a few pages. Others are partly burnt.
The burning took place to remind people all over the world of a thousand years of Christian bookburning – most recently seen in New Mexico – and to provoke reactions from the extreme Christian right. These reactions were used in THE CREATURE FROM BETHLEHEM, Mosegaards controversial 880 pages novel about the rise and fall of Christianity. The secretly written book was published by Denmarks largest publishinghouse, Gyldendal, and it immediately got the attention of the press.
